Indonesian Government Officials Announce they will accede to the RS by 2008
09 Feb 2007
On February 9, 2007, in the context of a conference organized by Parliamentarians for Global Action (PGA) in Jakarta, high level Government officials and Parliamentarians announced that Indonesia would accede to the Rome Statute of the ICC in 2008, and that preparations shall be made to meet the deadline. The government has, since 2004, included accession to the ICC treaty as part of its National Human Rights Action Plan.  The statement therefore confirms the support of Indonesia’s government to the ICC and confirms the original timeline set out by the Plan.
